Choosing Confidence In God’s Will

Staring at two pink lines will elicit a diverse variety of emotions and responses depending upon one’s life situation. For many women, the positive test staring back at them evokes feelings of fear and desperation. When faced with the many unknowns to follow, the weight of one’s future decisions is heavy and defining. For those struggling to decide and seeking further guidance on the choices available to them, we have a vast number of resources available.

Even following the decision to keep the baby, the feelings of doubt and disbelief can linger, if not intensify. It is immensely important to combat such harmful feelings. To do so we suggest finding a strong support group made up of informed people who each have your best interest at heart. This is the goal of the Ramona Women’s Clinic’s staff, to encourage and support you to the best of our ability through the entirety of your pregnancy as well as following the birth of your sweet baby.

However, we also encourage you to seek affirmation and comfort in God’s will and faithfulness. There is immense comfort that can be found in seeking Him in such a vulnerable season of life. One of the most effective ways to encourage a mindset focused on His will, is to meditate upon His word, the Bible. In doing so you’ll be able to find solace by reciting or rereading such verses when the reality of life becomes too heavy.

One of the most applicable and encouraging verses for such a time is found in 2 Corinthians 12:8-10; “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
This reminds us that even when we don’t understand how God could work our trials and pain for good, there is peace in knowing that He has an art for making beauty from ashes; and your situation is no different.
